The Pickle Juice Company sent us a package of Pickle Juice Shots to test out recently. I know what you’re thinking… pickle juice? Yup. That’s exactly what it tastes like too.

We brought Pickle Juice with us on a cross country ski trip, running and even shared with our professional triathlete neighbor and his active family. Collectively, we came to the same conclusions for Pickle Juice.
Taste
The taste is not as offensive as we were prepared for. It is a subtle pickle flavor (more vinegar) but we are a family of avid Kombucha drinkers so a little vinegar smell wouldn’t phase us. The taste was really refreshing and did not leave an offensive after taste.
Packaging
The bottle is lightweight and portable. It was easy to fit into backpacks, fanny packs and into treadmill cup holders.
Effectiveness
For short duration exercises or immediate relief, Pickle Juice Sport was effective at decreasing the rate of cramps, or completely relieving the cramps altogether. He lightweight bottle made it easier to bring on runs or pack in suitcases.
However, we did find that for long durations (60+ minutes) the pickle juice was not as effective as we were hoping for it to be for relief. Our neighbor had the same experience with Pickle Juice on his 3-hour road bike ride.
Perhaps it is the buildup of lactic acid during these long workouts? We did conclude that Pickle Juice Extra Strength Shots would be the perfect supplement for a criterion race or Olympic distance triathlon.
Low Carb Diets
Some samples were also given to a few office ladies who are in a low carb diet. They have been drinking pickle brine to help with cramps when they cycle off their carbs. Reviews from them have come back very positive about Pickle Juice.
Kid Friendly
We gave this supplement not only to our children but to the neighborhood kids as well to use after their respective school sport workouts. The only complaint came from my 8-year-old who doesn’t like pickles.
All the other children (ages 3-14) found Pickle Juice Shots to be helpful in their recovery period. I wish it had probiotics in it for the little ones.
I honestly did not realize the amount of people who are already using pickle brine to aid in muscle cramps prior to reviewing this supplement.

Pickle Juice Sport provides a simple and effective way to alleviate muscle cramps in all demographics. I recommend this product to anyone who is active, just getting into exercise, or who have been exercising for some time.

Hi Leah, thanks so much for reviewing our product. the functional properties of Pickle Juice will only engage the neurological receptors that cause cramping for 45-60 minutes at a time. You’ll find that you will experience the same relief you did on your short duration testing on the longer testing if you take the product within a 45 minute window of your likely cramp zones. You can also take an extra shot every 45-60 minutes during prolonged exercise to block the threat of cramps completely.
