A good travel dress is essential to my travel wardrobe. I pack at least 2-3 travel dresses for almost all types of travel, and layer them with cardigans in spring and fall, or wear them solo in summer or during tropical weather.

One of my favorite outdoor adventure travel wear brands, Mountain Khakis, has been expanding their offerings to include more essential travel pieces like dresses and skirts.
Most recently, I’ve tried their Cora Dress, which works perfectly for both summer travel in the US and Europe and year-round travel in Central America and other tropical climates.
The Cora Dress has clean, classic lines (think Aubrey Hepburn style), which means it is versatile. And if you’ve read my reviews here for any length of time, you know that versatile wins in my book.
If an item of clothing is going into my carry-on bag, it had better be ready to perform double duty. The Cora is a comfortable, practical dress for touring around town, museum hopping, shopping, and casual walks, but can also dress up for dinner out (just pair it with a nice scarf in a solid color or a cardigan and nice sandals).
I took it on a cruise because I liked the nautical look of the navy version, then took it throughout Central America as a casual day dress.
The Cora is 100% cotton jersey knit, which means it breathes, is soft, and doesn’t wrinkle easily. It’s basic, but has a somewhat tailored feel to it, thanks to the draw cord at the waist that can be adjusted however you like.
The neckline is simple yet elegant, and the dress falls just above the knee. I found a medium to fit true to size, so no need to size up or down. You can get it in the navy color I mentioned, which is actually midnight blue, or in linen (light cream with black accents) or geyser (light gray and light yellow). All three colors are very spring/summery.

The Cora is $69 in sizes XS-XL, and for this price, will be a staple in your travel wardrobe for years. I love that Mountain Khakis continues to make clothing with classic lines that won’t go out of style in just a few seasons.
