It doesn’t matter what the calendar says, I’m always on the lookout for summer clothes, especially shorts. Lightweight and available a trio of fun colors, Patagonia’s Women's Home Waters Volley Shorts -3” are an ideal piece of gear to add to your collection, and to have handy when you’re on the road.
Made from 59% organic cotton, 28% recycled polyester, and 13% spandex ripstop, the shorts have just enough of stretch that they move with you, making them a good fit for active adventures including hiking, kayaking, and beachcombing.
Patagonia’s Women's Home Waters Volley Shorts’ lightweight material has a durable feel, but as the name implies, the shorts also fare well in water. While I haven’t used them as a replacement for a swimsuit, I’ve been in and out of ocean surf while wearing them. They dry quickly and don’t weigh you down in the process.
The waistband is elasticized making the shorts comfortable to relax or run errands in, but a draw cord allows for a more customized, secure fit when needed. While there aren’t side pockets, there is a zippered rear pocket with a key loop. I’ve stashed everything from money and hotel key cards to sea shells inside without worry.
These shorts take up very little space in a suitcase; in a pinch, they’re easy to wash in a sink and dry quickly, making them handy when traveling.
