Tank tops come in so many styles that it can be hard to evaluate without trying each one on. They’re cropped, fitted, muscle, cut-out, racerback, cami, halter, tunic, and likely more than I can remember.
Certainly, each person has their own style and fit preference, but when it comes to a solid standard tank that looks good on practically everyone, I return to the Land’s End Women’s Cotton Tank Top.
The all-cotton interlock knit is soft and comfortable for all-day wear. It’s lightweight, but not tissue-thin, and it’s perfect alone, or layered. Just two of them in your suitcase are enough to stretch your travel wardrobe by a handful of different outfits.
The tank has a relaxed (not baggy!) fit and falls to mid-hip, and the straps are cut to keep your bra straps hidden. Sure, form-fitting, cropped tanks can be a good choice for the beach, but the reason I like this tank is that it works in other environments, as well. Plus, it’s useful for more than just a conventionally “perfect” body.
This tank top has also made a bunch of “best” lists and is among Land’s End most-requested tank—so it’s not only me who loves it.
Want to keep the relaxed fit when cleaning this tank top? Machine wash in cold and lay flat to dry. If you prefer to use the dryer, consider sizing up so any shrinkage results in the perfect fit.
The women’s Cotton Tank Top comes in a wide variety of colors and prints: black (pictured), white, radiant navy, deep sea navy even stripe, coral red, ivory/periwinkle Breton stripe, deep sea navy stars, pale sky, pale yellow, light sea/clear blue stripe, sage, light rose pink, washed moss/ivory stripes, and coral rock multi floral. They range in prices from $26.99 to $29.95. Check them out on the Land’s End site.
