Despite black suitcases being ubiquitous, I still love them. They hide dirt easily, and don’t look heavily used until you’ve traveled with them for years.

But recently, I chose a different color for a popular new suitcase, just so it was less likely to be mixed up with another traveler’s bag. The trouble was, I’m still not the only one who picked that different color, and we almost mixed up our bags in Tahiti.

Now, I use a couple of methods to make my bag stand out: stickers and bright tags. The highly visible Ovener Silicone Luggage Tags have been my favorite.

The sturdy tags are solid enough to endure airport luggage handling, far more than any tag I’ve used to date. I can’t count the number of tags that didn’t make it through a trip when I checked my bags. And while I’m not attached to any particular tag, having a sturdy set helps to keep my bag from getting lost, and also avoids creating unnecessary waste.

The tags come in a variety of colors, some of them bright, so you can spot your unique combination of bag and tag quickly. Made of flexible silicone, the lightweight tags are soft and can bend without breaking. They attach to your bag’s handle with a 7-inch stainless steel cable that is easy to attach and remove, and is less likely to break than many other materials.

At 3.4 inches by 1.7 inches, the name card is large enough for you to write your most important information (name, address, telephone number, email) on with a pen. The tags cover all but your name from prying eyes, still making it easy to identify your luggage from others.

The silicone luggage tags come in a variety of colors—from green to red—but I prefer the orange ones, because they catch my eye quickly. A two-pack lists for $7.99 on Amazon.
