With two mounting options, the Scout Bike Alarm & Finder can be mounted under a bottle cage for “stealth” mode or “Overt” with a Hi-Viz cover on the frame. Mounting is quick and easy and the Hi Viz cover is sure to deter any would be thieves. The Hi-Viz cover is a soft silicone for easy cleaning.
The Scout alarm is 85 dB and motion-sensing. 85dB may not be loud enough in some markets that are polluted with noise. The location technology is integrated with Apple’s Find My app. Other users have reported limited Bluetooth range in bigger markets. In good ol’ Boise, Idaho, we have not experienced the limited Bluetooth range.
The battery life is where we have noticed some inconsistencies with the Scout Bike Alarm & Finder. Charging can be slow at times, so we try to recharge overnight to ensure a fully charged battery. The battery is to last up to 6 months on a full charge. There have been some reports from users that the Scout Bike Alarm & Finder lasts around 1 month with heavy usage.
