Some travelers say to never travel in jeans, because they can be binding and uncomfortable on long flights or drives. But before you leave your jeans home and head to the airport in your pajamas, consider that the advice is more connected to the style of jean—rather than jeans as a category.
I’ve recently been wearing the DU/ER Women’s Performance Denim Harbour Pant, and based on my experience, I’d have no problem with featuring that item heavily in my travel wardrobe.
Key elements of the pant that make it perfectly fine for travel are its relaxed fit, elasticized waistband and drawstring for an adjustable fit, and fabric that provides stretch. Made with 40% conventional cotton, 30% organic cotton, 28% Coolmax all-season EcoMade polyester, and 2% lycra EcoMade spandex, the fabric not only stretches, but also provides temperature regulation and moisture wicking for continued comfort. The fabric has had antimicrobial treatment for extended wear between washes, which is especially helpful when you’re traveling and can’t wash everything after one wear.
The pant has two deep front pockets and two back pockets. I can easily fit my phone in a front pocket and not worry about it falling out. The cropped length and raw hem of the pant may seem as if it’s only fit to wear for casual occasions, but the pant can be easily dressed up for evening outings.
When washing, machine wash cold with like colors and tumble dry on low. Skip the use of any silicone softeners.
The Women’s Performance Demin Harbour Pant comes in medium blue (pictured) and light stone—both for $139 on the DU/ER site. Consider pairing your purchase with the beautiful and equally comfortable PurePima Vintage Dolman Tee ($49), which comes in washed indigo, washed clover, or washed Mars.
