Beach towels never seem to be big enough, whether your ideal summer lounging activity is at the beach, lake, park, or campground. Trying to fit yourself, a camp chair, a cooler, and your bag on own towel, let alone adding a few friends, can be a failed effort. Before this summer hits, I’ve scouted for a great beach towel for my family’s time off.

Look no further than the Nomadix Blanket Towel, which measures 60 inches long by 80 inches wide. Made with 90% post-consumer recycled polyester, the micro-terry towel is printed with a design on front, and is a charcoal gray color on the back.

The towel is also lightweight, weighing just 2 pounds and 2 ounces in your pack or beach bag. It takes up less room than a standard beach towel, even though it covers more area.

But even better, the towel is super absorbent, with a 4:1 water to weight ratio, and also dries quickly. Forget to wash it a couple of times—it’s odor-resistant. Bring it to the beach—it’s sand-resistant. Let your dog lounge around with you—it’s pet hair-resistant. Just a couple of shakes gets most sand and pet hair out.

Of course, once I got one, thinking it would be enough for the three of us, everyone wanted their own. But even that makes our adventures flexible. Use one towel to sit on and two towels to dry off, or even spread out on a couple of towels and use the extra for drying purposes—it all works.

The Blanket Towel lists for $64.95 on the Nomadix site, and comes in four print types: paradise golden dusk (pictured), palms dusk, shift multi, and national parks and monuments map.
