Pacsafe SlingSafe LX250 Anti-Theft Tote – A Quick Review

I’m constantly on the lookout for the ideal tote for travel.

For me, that means it’s roomy, looks good (so I can use it for nearly anything), fits my laptop and iPad, fits my huge camera, plus leaves room for a few other things (like wallet, phone, notebook, pens), and isn’t easy for thieves to snag.

Am I asking a lot? I don’t think so.

  • Simple And Unstructured Tote Bag With Anti-Theft Features.
  • Perfect For Keeping Belongings Close And Safe.
  • Lightweight, Hidden Exomesh Slashguard Stainless Steel Wire Mesh Embedded.
  • RFID Safe Blocking Material.

The Pacsafe SlingSafe LX250 Anti-Theft Tote comes close to doing it all for me. My recent go-to favorite has been the Citysafe LS400 Anti-Theft Travel Tote, which does a great job, however I’m constantly adjusting the cross-body strap. The SlingSafe doesn’t have one (more on that later), so no problem there.

The tote measures 11.9 inches x 15.8 inches x 4 inches, and is made from polyester material (the solid colors are 600D high-density polyester oxford, and the tweed color is 350 D polyester tweed).

The handle drop height is 9.9 inches, which is ample room without being too tight.

The main compartment has a padded 13-inch laptop compatible sleeve, and RFIDsafe pocket, and plenty of room for your essentials—even when you’re like me, and have to cram charging cables and a big, fat camera in there (which makes it heavy, but that’s my fault).

There’s also a zippered external pocket with a key clip.

The tote handles are padded, but only a little. The webbing straps have a very subtle padding that will save you for a while, but if the bag is heavy, it’ll eventually take a toll.

And there is no cross-body strap to save you, so think about how much you really need.

Now for the security. The zippered main compartment zipper pullers can be attached to a security hook to prevent pickpockets from reaching into your bag.

The strap incorporates two hard-to-cut materials: Pacsafe’s Carrysafe strap with high-tensile stainless steel wire, and Dyneema—a strong, lightweight fiber that offers additional cut resistance.

Similarly, the outside fabric panels of the bag have a lightweight slash guard, so thieves can’t just slash your bag to get what they want.

The smart buckle on one strap has a dual release button to open and close it. It also allows you to attach your bag to a secure fixture, like the leg of a table or your airplane seat.

Earlier, I mentioned the RFIDsafe pocket, which keeps thieves from accessing your information on passports, credit cards, and ID cards from up to 10 feet away with the help of an RFID reader.

The Pacsafe SlingSafe LX250 Anti-Theft Tote comes in black, chili, and tweed—and lists for $64.95 on the Pacsafe site. It’s also available at Amazon.
