If you’re dreaming about summer or lucky enough to be heading somewhere tropical and warm soon, think about adding Patagonia’s Women’s Amber Dawn Dress to you repertoire.
I added this knee-length dress to my collection just in time for a winter trip to Oahu, and it quickly became a go-to for everything from covering up at the beach to heading out to dinner.
Made of 96% organic cotton and 4% spandex this slub-knit jersey dress is soft and feels nice on your skin. However, I think it’s the flattering fit that won me over. The strappy bodice ends just below the bust, creating a slim fit and elongated silhouette. (Walking through a grocery store one afternoon, two strangers complimented me on the dress, asking where I found it.)
Because of the lining in the bodice and my build, I was comfortable wearing the dress without a bra, however, I acknowledge others may not feel the same way. There’s isn’t built-in support or coverage and the keyhole detail on the back of the dress makes pairing a bra a bit tricky, so it’s something some shoppers may want to keep in mind.
Perfect for travel, Patagonia’s Women’s Amber Dawn Dress folds up compactly, taking up very little room in a suitcase or backpack. I didn’t have any issues with wrinkles.
I throw the dress in the washing machine without concern. Care instructions recommend tumbling dry on low heat; I prefer to hang dresses to air dry when possible.
Patagonia’s Women’s Amber Dawn Dress comes in a variety of colors; check online for updates, as new colors seem to get added to the mix on a regular basis. Cost is $65 on the Patagonia website.
Patagonia guarantees everything it makes, offering a very generous return policy. The company also offers gear repairs, often free of charge.
