Working out on the road can be tough, especially when traveling with only a carry-on bag and little space for extra clothes and gear.

So it is important for me to find dual uses for things that I travel with: shoes that work for business and leisure; shorts that can be worn while walking around town but also for workouts, etc.
Olivers Apparel makes a great pair of shorts known as the Capital Shorts that are designed for durability when getting active, but also can be worn as casual wear.
This is achieved by using a combination of Nylon and Spandex fabrics that stretch for comfortable performance, but also don’t look like you’re attending a barbecue party in your gym clothes. They look a nice pair of slim, cotton chino pants and have both side and back pockets.
I find these shorts especially comfortable for travel. On a recent trip to South Africa, which is in its summer season, these breathable shorts were great for napping on the plane and exploring town.
The shorts repel water meaning they don’t get damp from sweat or even the rain, which keeps them odor-free (important when they are stuffed in your bag for long periods of time).
Later, they were the perfect pair of shorts to go jogging without them feeling to restrictive.
That’s rare to find a good pair of shorts that can serve that dual purpose.
The company offers a full replacement pair of shorts within six months of purchase if there are any issues with the product, which is great since they are not cheap. But, the quality and comfort are worth it.
