A comfy chair does wonders for relaxing in the great outdoors. Whether you are going car camping, heading to an outdoor concert, or cheering on your kids at a sporting event, the REI Co-op Wonderland Chair features luxe touches that make it comfortable and good looking.
Made with steel tubing, wooden armrests, and water repellent, 100% recycled polyester, when set up the seat is 16 inches from the ground, and the chair measures 35.8 inches high, by 22 inches wide, by 24 inches deep. In other words, it’s a big chair. It weighs 13 pounds, 7 ounces, and has a weight capacity of 300 pounds.
The mesh cup holder is large enough to fit a vast majority of water bottles and vessels. I especially liked that when you don’t need the holder, it swings under the chair and out of the way.
You need to put a little bit of muscle into it, but opening and folding up the chair is relatively straightforward; an added perk, even when folded up the chair stands on its own. So there’s no need to find something to lean it against, or lay it on the ground.
A simple clip on the carrying strap keeps the chair cinched together when you are on the move. (There’s no carrying bag or pack.) However, keep in mind part of the reason this chair is so comfortable and supportive is because of its size. Even though it folds up nicely, it’s still on the bulky side. If you’re looking for a chair you can hike into a camp site with, this likely isn’t for you. I’ve used it while car camping, on the beach, at block parties, and in my backyard.
The REI Co-op Wonderland Chair is available in Flint Blue and Fresh Fig. Cost is $99.95 on the Rei Co-op website.
