Hitting the trail and getting away from it all, even for just a day, is something outdoor folks think about more and more now that winter is beginning to transition to spring. But even in spring weather, a poorly fitting pack with no ventilation can make you sweat just like you might on a hot summer day. But if you don’t have much experience with well-ventilated packs, how do you know what to look for?

One of the best new examples of a great ventilated pack is the Gregory Juno 24-liter pack for women.

One of the most important features of this pack is that it uses a VaporSpan ventilated suspension with moisture-wicking mesh and a perimeter allow frame to keep you cool, dry, and comfortable while you’re hiking. The pack also has a breathable, ActiveFlex perforated shoulder harness. The 3D cradle padded hipbelt has zippered pockets, so you can keep the most essential small items close while on the trail.

The one-size Juno has a gender-specific fit, with harness and hipbelt shapes specifically designed for female anatomy, as opposed to the Citro version of the pack for men.

Inside the pack, an internal hydration sleeve has a SpeedClip hydration mounting system that’s compatible with Gregory’s 3D Hydro reservoir. The reservoir isn’t included with the pack, however, so that’s an added purchase. Aside from the sleeve, the main compartment is roomy to bring all your favorite things (within reason) along on your journey. There’s also an interior mesh zippered security pocket, an external top zippered pocket, an external front zippered pocket, and a front stretch and dual side mesh pockets for quick storage.

If you regularly hike with trekking poles, the Juno has an attachment point with a bungee closure system so you can store them when you need to.

The Juno 24 Pack for women comes in lunar gray, arroyo orange, and spruce blue, and lists for $119.95 on the Gregory site.
