First off, any vest that’s reversible is automatically going in my luggage, because right there…two looks in one! One side is a faux fur that’s luxuriously soft (I like that side on the inside, obviously), and the other side is quilted polyester ripstop. You get a full zip closure and a bit of neck and chin coverage when fully zipped. Plus, the on-seam pockets are fully zippered, too.
The quilted pattern is subtle and comes in colors that will compliment a lot of outfits, and in fall especially, it’s important to get that layering look down. No doubt, you’ll be peeling off and putting on layers on the plane and at your destination, and a vest is one of the best ways to keep your core at a consistent temp. This one I love even more. The asymmetrical cut on this cardigan can be worn open or closed with a single button closure at the shoulder, and the fringe trim gives it a truly elegant look. It looks and feels much like wearing a wrap or cashmere scarf, and the 60 percent viscose/ 40 percent nylon knit feels so soft, I actually looked at the tag to make sure it wasn’t, indeed, cashmere.
Here’s why it’s great for travel: it’s lightweight, soft, packs down small, and looks fabulous with just about any outfit, from jeans to a cocktail dress. I have mine in my bag all the time, so I can slip it on if the airplane gets chilly, if the sun goes behind clouds at a patio dinner, or if the weather unexpectedly cools while on a walking tour.
