Aventura Clothing is one of my favorite women’s clothing brands for active women travelers. This eco-friendly brand offers a wide selection of organic cotton items that, season after season, prove to be both stylish and functional. Their pieces rarely wrinkle, pack down small, and most are versatile, meaning I can pack less in my bag for each trip. This fall, Aventura has two new dresses perfect for travel.

Jaylee Dress:

jaylee-dressPicture your favorite cozy knit sweater, then imagine it in dress form. The Jaylee Dress is a light sweater knit that fits flatteringly without being tight. I can really move in it, whether that means a nature walk or city stroll at my destination or the ability to curl up and nap on an airplane seat. The Jaylee is sporty in style, with contrasting sleeves and collar, so it has a very understated, casual look. The knit is 90% organic cotton and 7% cashmere (3% nylon for stretch). The organic cotton/cashmere blend gives the dress a softness that’s really divine.

Wear the Jaylee with flats or slip-ons for ultimate comfort while traveling, and then dress it up with tights or leggings and a fun scarf in the evenings. The length is 37”, which means the hem hits my 5’4” body right below the knee, giving me just enough length to feel comfortable wearing it anywhere. The only downside to this dress: it’s hand wash only. Luckily I can get several wears out of it before I need to clean it. It comes in three color options: grisaille (a slate-blue color), black, or merlot. Pick up the Jaylee at Aventura for $92, or find it on Amazon.

Spectra Dress:

spectra-dressThe Spectra falls into the same sporty/casual category as the Jaylee, but takes comfort to a whole other level. With two layers of jersey, the Spectra feels like wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt…while looking a heck of a lot cuter doing it. Made of 88% cotton and 12% polyester, this ‘sweatshirt dress’ (my words) has a drawstring waist and contrasting cuffs and seams. The result: there’s a nice shape to this dress, which means you’ll look pulled together even if you feel like you’re lounging around. Best of all, you can machine wash it!

Like the Jaylee, the Spectra’s length is 37”, and it comes in two colors: black/gray and grisaille/gray). I’ve been pairing mine with leggings (see below) and boots as I travel this fall. Pick it up for $85 from Aventura or find it on Amazon.

Opting for travel dresses instead of pants and tops means saving room in your luggage, and simplifying your outfits. With the extra room, pack a few accessories that add pizzazz to your dresses and add a practical warm touch.

Bergamo infinity scarf:

So simple, so elegant, always ready to dress up any outfit, an infinity scarf is an absolute must in my luggage, no matter the season. This fall and winter, I’ll be bringing the Bergamo in my bag, to pair with dresses for evening, pull on while on chilly planes, and generally look more sophisticated than I am. This knit scarf is thick without being bulky, is made in Italy, and comes in gray, rust, or purple tones. Pick it up for $45.

Floral legging:

I love Aventura leggings because they don’t slip down and get baggy. Seriously, that’s all I’m asking of my leggings. This new floral offering is my new fave, because it adds a bit more flare to an otherwise simple accessory. I wear leggings all winter with skirts and dresses, so it’s nice to mix things up with a pattern that still goes with just about everything. The floral pattern runs the length of the outside of the leg, and the leggings stop at the ankle (no stocking foot). Grab a pair for $32.
