In many places, the change of seasons means that flannel plaid button-up shirts get packed away for cooler weather. But those shirts are so beloved for their comfort and good-looking function that it’s hard to say “see you later.” In their place, I usually have a few go-to lightweight shirts to take their place in warmer weather.

The popularity of the Stio Eddy Shirt LS made the brand consider making a version with fabric designed for lighter comfort and warmer days. Thus, the Stio Eddy Coast Shirt LS was born.

Made of Conflux Seersucker (56 percent nylon, 44 percent polyester), the shirt has a cool touch and textured weave with a soft, natural feel. It’s also got a mechanical stretch for comfort and range of motion, UPF 50+ rating for sun protection, and a PFAS-free water-repellent finish that reduces dry time.

The Eddy Coast Shirt has a regular, Goldilocks fit—just right, without being too baggy or too tight. The modified shirttail hem looks good both tucked in and left out. And the pearl-style snaps at the front closure and on the two chest pockets add a perfect touch of style.

The shirts reinforced collar adds a bit of structure, and the cuffs roll easily when you need to do some personal temperature regulation or just want to feel the sun on your arms.

One of the things I love the most, is that I can wash the shirt (in the washing machine or my hotel sink), let it air-dry, and it’s ready to wear again in a few hours. That reduces the number of clothing items I need to bring along on my trip.

The Women’s Eddy Coast Shirt LS comes in two colorways: chicory flower plaid and pale straw plaid. The shirt lists for $129 on the Stio site. If Stio adds more colors, I’d buy more.
