It’s almost springtime, and stylish and comfy shorts should be on your radar screen. Birddogs has done a fine job of creating workout shorts that look nice enough to double as dress shorts.
The Cattywamps, for example, have a very nice-looking red seersucker pattern. The shorts are designed, like bathing suits or workout shorts, with underwear built inside. This means they are light and loose fitting making them great for playing sports, running, or just going for a walk.
The crotch is not too restricting, which is what makes it comfortable as activewear, and the drawstring top means it can be adjusted as needed. It’s the pattern options and fabric that make these look much fancier.
I liked that I could wear them for a cup of coffee or breakfast and then head for a workout later without changing first.
There are zippered pockets on either side to hold things like an iPod, mobile device, or wallet. The pocket interiors keep contents in place without moving around too much to become bothersome. There’s also a separate pocket in the front, and the shorts come in multiple sizes from short to classic to long.
Birddogs has quite the advertising campaign designed to appeal to athletic guys with plenty of jokes about the interior underwear lining and just how comfortable it is.
Without going into too much personal detail, I can agree that I think these are quite the good-looking pair of shorts for multi-purpose use. Don’t worry, they are not revealing in any way although I did wonder if you have a white pair because the fabric is not entirely opaque.
These shorts retail for $60 on the Birddogs website and come in a variety of styles, designs, and sizes. Initially, I was worried they might shrink when washed, but they have maintained their stretch and original comfort since I have begun using them for several weeks.
