I love the ex-officio boxer shorts. I bought one pair to try from a backpacking shop in Melbourne and took them travelling to the US. I came back with another three pairs. I'm slowly chucking out all my other pairs and replacing them with just ex-officio ones.

I pack a few pairs of these and a few thongs when I travel. I'm set for a week at a time and all of them can easily fit in a sink when it's time to wash. A few hours later, ready to go again!

I wore these on my round the world trip and did not regret the purchase. They are lightweight, dry fast and can be worn when you can't always get a proper bath. These things happen when you're traveling long term.

Wish I had read about them *before* my RTW trip instead of after. It's not easy to go underwear shopping in other countries, especially Asia, because the sizes don't correlate with the US very well, and of course you're not allowed to return them. It was a crapshoot, and thus I'd always be looking for the cheaper option.

I'm actually a big fan of these undies, too! I bought a pair at REI two years ago for a backpacking trip to Europe. I wanted something that could easily be washed in a sink and dry quickly. They are comfy and light-weight, and they dry very fast. It's also nice that they come in a variety of different cuts, so you don't have to feel like you're wearing granny panties. Thumbs up from me!
