Soy Delites Candles in Travel Tins
Got a musty hotel room? Want to mask the odor of microwave buttered popcorn in your condo? Maybe set the mood for romance on an adults-only getaway? Consider packing travel candles — specifically 4-oz. Soy Delites in convenient travel tins.
Soy Delites come in more than 20 fragrances. And they are no wimpy scents. I sampled girly Pomegranite, slightly spicy Ginger Lemongrass, and fruity Cucumber Melon; I give thumbs’ up to them all (though I’d use more for air freshening than for setting the scene for romance, since the scents are quite strong). I’m intrigued by the fragrances Fresh Air and Ocean — both sound so clean, and ideal to bring along on a beach vacation.
The candles are made from soy, not parrafin. According to company owners Christy Bell and Garland Wolcott, who work out of their home in Austin, Texas, soy burns much “cleaner,” leaving little to no black residue in the containers in which they are burned. Also, soy candles are eco-friendly: paraffin is a by-product of oil refining, while soy comes from farmed soybeans, a sustainable and renewable resource. The soy wax is long lasting, too: each tin is said to burn for 25 hours.
The travel tins retail for $6/each ($20 for 4) on the Soy Delites website.
