Easier Passport Photos Online from ePassportPhoto

By JohnG

PTG-PassportphotosIt’s always been a bit of a hassle for me getting passport and visa pictures made.  But ePassportPhoto.com makes the process easier—and in many cases, less expensive—for business and leisure travelers.

For my last passport application, I had the pictures made at the post office.  (No, you won’t find them in the”wanted” section!)  But my post office wants an appointment for passport services because of limited staff.

More recently, when I needed pictures for a visa, I went to FedEx Office.   But the nearest one is about 40 milesaway, so that’s not exactly what I would call convenient.

ePassportPhoto bills itself as the Internet passport photos booth.  There are two levels of service.

Their free service gives clear instructions on how to use a simple digital camera to take a picture that meets therequirements for passports and visas.

First, you upload the photo and check that it’s in compliance.  The website formats it to the right size.

Then, you can print on photo paper on your own printer.  Or, save it on disk and take it to a local photo store.

The price is hard to beat.

The company also offers a premium service that includes having someone look at the picture to validate that it meets all requirements.  Then you’ll receive a sheet with six pictures.

Even the premium service will save you money over what many places charge for passport photos.

The cost of the premium service is $6.95, plus an additional 19 cents, when you pick up the pictures at your nearest Walgreens.  They are usually available the same day or the following day.

Or, for $7.95, you can get the pictures by mail.  The sample pictures in this article were printed by one of thelargest online photo houses, Snapfish.

ePassportPhotos’ website is simple and easy to navigate.  And the quality of the premium photos is excellent.

The company has been in operation four years, with more than two million users from 200 different countries.

So next time I need a passport or visa photos, I’m heading to ePassportPhoto.com.  It’s an excellent site to bookmark for world travelers.
