Brenthaven Ecco-Prene III Notebook Sleeve

Ecco-Prene Notebook Sleeve

Tired of watching your laptop get thrown around by airline employees slinging bags and security screeners who jostle those grey TSA bins like they are bumper cars? Laptops endure a lot of stress during the travel process, but even when they are in your briefcase or carryon, they deserve superior protection. I admit I put my laptop slovenly in my carryon bag sometimes especially when in a hurry after passing through security. Perhaps that is why my screen developed a crack in it. I know some of you are cringing at my packing style, but I promise that I am improving!

That’s what led to my new year’s resolution this year…take better care of my laptop and protect it in a laptop sleeve before placing it in my carryon bag. The Brenthaven 17” Ecco-Prene Sleeve was my chosen weapon against wear and tear. After two weeks of traveling with it, I have grown accustomed to taking that extra step of zipping my laptop back up after passing through security. As proud of myself as I try to be, the real heavy lifting is done by the soft external shell of this case that shields the hardware in its snug interior space.

The spongy leather allows me to gain that extra inch in my carryon bag for when I overpack or collect too much on a trip. Lightweight and with a lifetime guarantee, this bag is a solid trade off for its skimpy price tag of $34.95 especially considering I was making do without a laptop case before (let’s skip the finger wagging of my laptop’s previously poor treatment).

I prefer the Brenthaven sleeve to others because it comes in various sizes including my 17” case that is perfect for my longer laptop and separate models for PCs and Macs. However, I wish it had an exterior pocket for me to put smaller items like a boarding pass, book, or pen. On the other hand, a pocket can call for overstuffing, which can eventually hurt the laptop if shoved or dropped.

The sleeves are available in multiple colors including black and pink. Speaking of colors, the Brenthaven team of designers even thought of going green too. The material is 100% recyclable and is PVC-free (polyvinyl chloride). PVC is a commonly used plastic that is affordable to produce, but detrimental to the environment as it is difficult and expensive to recycle.

A solid warranty is appreciated, and signing up at the company’s web site using this link brings a 15% discount on any future purchase.

This sleeve is available on Brenthaven’s web site or Amazon.com and is a great bargain that protects your laptop with ease. It’s easy to carry making it a preferred option over some of the competition. My laptop is very grateful!

How random, I was thinking about how I was gonna pack my laptop for a trip coming up. This bag sounds like a good bet!

I love this case. It fits my laptop perfectly and has just the right amount of room to stuff a newspaper or magazine right in there with it so I can keep it next to me on a long plane flight to use. You’ll love it Abigail!

I like how described it as being “spongy.” It gave me the impression that it can provide additional protection and cushioning. This is certainly worth taking a closer look at. Thanks for the heads up, Ramsey!

Sleek! That’s what I like about it. I hate bulk and heftiness an any of my gadgets and gizmos. This sleeve is right up my alley!
